Allow Him to reign in your life

Lord, please reign in my life! You are my King! Please help me get back on the right path when I walk away and help me never to let go of You! You are my King and my desire is to serve You and never to turn away from You!
The Israelites wanted a king to reign over them, they wanted someone they could see, someone who could “judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.” (1 Samuel 8:20). They also wanted a king so “that we also may be like all the nations…” (1 Samuel 8:20). They wanted a king in order to fit in with the nations around them. They must have felt like the laughing stock of the area, they served a King that no one could see.
But in asking for a king they were saying that God was not good enough for them, they were rejecting God as their King. God says to His appointed Judge, Samuel, in 1 Samuel 8:7-8, “…they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them… they have forsaken Me and served other gods.” After all God had done for them they wanted to replace Him as their King. They wanted a king who would go before them and fight for them, forgetting that God is the One who goes before us and fights for us.
The Lord tells Samuel to tell the Israelites what a king would do to them (1 Samuel 8:10-18), how he would take from them and make them work for him. Yet, they still cried out for a king (1 Samuel 8:19). And so, God heard their cry (1 Samuel 9:16) and gave them a king.
As humans we often times want something we can see and we convince ourselves that what we want is better than what we already have. And God, understanding our weakness gives us what we are crying out for, even though He knows it is not what is best for us. He gives it to us so that we can learn to trust Him and so that we can see that He is what we really need. He is our King and when we replace Him with other gods, money, fame, work, etc., we end up hurt and lost. The Israelites
replaced God and served their kings and ended up hurt and lost in a foreign land.
God is our King, He is the one who fights for us, He goes before us, and He will never fail us like other gods will. Allow Him to reign in your life.

Porto Velho, Brazil

This March I have an opportunity to go to Porto Velho, Brazil with a Liberty University Global Team hosted by SIL. This trip is only open to Aviation students and will focus on giving Aviation students a picture of aviation in Brazil. Because of my passion for Aviation this is the perfect opportunity. I am excited about what God will teach me through this experience and how He will change me. I am excited to serve God in Brazil!
As a partner I would ask that you would support me on this trip first and foremost with prayer. Please pray for the funds needed for this trip. We each need to raise $3300. Please consider partnering me in this. Any donations through the Center for Global Engagements are tax deductible and can be given by check or online. All payments must be made out to Liberty University’s Center for Global Engagement.
Please pray that God will equip my team and me for what we will be doing in Brazil. Pray that He will teach me through my experience during training for the trip and during the trip. Pray that He would be in every aspect of planning, preparing, and going, and that He would be with my team and me as we raise financial support.
Let me know if you have any questions about the trip!
Thank you for your support!

Romans 10:13-15, "For 'whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.' How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?  And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

Matthew 19:26, "But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

“1LU, left on Delta, Delta to parking, monitor ground .9, Congratulations.”

“1LU, left on Delta, Delta to parking, monitor ground .9, Congratulations.”
“Left on Delta, Delta to parking, monitor ground .9, 1LU, Thank you.”
And thus ended my first solo flight on the beautiful morning of December 11, 2013.

The first solo is a milestone in a pilots training. It’s the moment you become a pilot. The moment you know for sure that you can fly without an extra hand from your instructor. Although I had already been in control of the airplane and had logged many hours of flight time in the Skyhawk, there was always someone beside me, ready to jump onto the controls with me if something happened or to take the controls and demonstrate a maneuver. This time it was just me! No matter what happened I was in control and no one was beside me! It was a moment of absolute excitement! Yeah, I was a little nervous at first, I was in sole control of a Skyhawk, if anything happened I was PIC (pilot in command). But, my instructor knew I could fly and I had many hours of experience behind me, I was ready for this! I had been ready for this moment ever since I had begun my flight training almost a year previous (as a part 141 school we do our solo flights further down in our training). I flew the pattern four times before landing. As I taxied in I saw our Associate dean waiting for me, giving me thumbs up. My instructor, who had been watching me fly the pattern, came out to meet me and congratulate me while I got out to park the plane! It was a moment of complete triumph and excitement! The only thing I regret was that it was over so quickly! At the moment my heart is in the clouds, but my feet are on the ground.
I am so thankful for everyone at the School of Aeronautics who helped me get to where I am in my flight training. They have been encouraging, patient, and overall amazing ever since I got to Liberty. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with and fly with! God has so richly blessed me by allowing me to be at Liberty!

I cannot wait to see them next week

My parents are the most encouraging, loving, and caring people that I have ever known. I am so thankful that God gave me such amazing parents. My mom and dad stand behind me in whatever I decide to do and wherever I decide to go. No matter what they will always be encouraging me and giving to me!
This time next week my semester will be over and I will be heading home. This will be my first time home since August and I can say one thing, I cannot wait to be home! I cannot wait to be back with my family! I just hope that one day I will be able to show them how much I appreciate and love them!
God has richly blessed me with the parents He has given to me! I know I haven't always been the best daughter, but I understand and see more and more of what they have done and are doing for me daily!
I want to thank them for allowing me to be at Liberty so that I can fly! I want to thank them for raising me to know God and to follow God! I want to thank them for making our home a special place where God was at the center and us kids were important and loved! I want to thank them for who they are and what they have given to me! Most of all I want to thank God for giving them to me!

And I cannot wait to see them next week!
