Not by works, all by grace

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, " For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  not of works, lest anyone should boast." Thank God we are not saved by our own works! We are saved by His grace, and by His grace alone! It we were saved by our works, we would never know if we had done enough good works, we would never be assured of our salvation, we wouldn't know for sure that we would go to heaven after we died. But God has saved us by His grace! We can't boast and say "I earned my way to heaven." or "I did so many good works God will have to let me into heaven." It is only because God chose to save us from our sin. He chose to send His one and only Son, the Son who He loved, so that He could die in our place on the cross. (John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4) He died for our sins and then He rose again, victorious over sin and death! He gave us a choice to believe on Him and be saved (Acts 16:31). Grace is getting something we don't deserve. We didn't deserve to be saved, but God saved us! His grace is what gets us into heaven! Today, praise the Lord that you don't have to work for your salvation, because if we had to work for our salvation, none of us would be going to heaven! (James 2:10, Isaiah 64:6) Have faith in His grace, not your works!
